Welcome to my blog! I am excited to learn more about dyslexia and how I can become a better teacher in the area of teaching children with dyslexia. A few questions I will be discussing in my blog are: What are some coping strategies the child with dyslexia might use to learn? What treatments are available for children with dyslexia? What can parents do to help their child with dyslexia be successful in school? What symptoms should a parent and/or teacher be looking for when trying to identify dyslexia? What should dyslexia researchers be researching? The list of questions could go on forever, and I know I will be adding to this list of questions as I continue to research this topic. I hope you will enjoy following my posts as I dive into this topic and post throughout the quarter. I look forward to the comments, questions, and feedback from any of my followers! Enjoy~

"Early identification of dyslexia is worthless unless effective remediation takes place."
Sarah Beth,
ReplyDeleteYou're off to a very good start. Your questions are broad enough to give you a chance to explore dyslexia in depth, but focused enough that you will certainly be able to get some pointed answers to your inquiry. As you continue, you might consider doing some internet searches for basic information on dyslexia to improve your understanding, and then you can incorporate this knowledge into more specific inquiries. Good job.

Sarah,
ReplyDeleteI have never come across a student with dyslexia and I look forward to learning more. From reading the "About Me" portion of your blog I can see that you worked with a student with dyslexia. I think that this personal encounter will be helpful to your blog. I can't wait to see your blog develop!
